Mansion/shooting lodge

This category automatically includes Scots baronial mansions, Georgian style mansions and large nineteenth century castles. If you are interested only in one or two of these categories, please indicate.

O Town houses/flats/tenements (of varying sizes, some with shops on ground floor)

Cottages and small houses in non-urban settings

This category includes gate lodges. Please indicate if you wish to receive information on gate lodges only.

Buildings which might be convertible to a middle- sized dwelling (or other uses of that scale)

This category will automatically include many small country houses/laird's houses; farm houses; manses; tower houses; agricultural buildings and mills; ancillary estate buildings (stables, dairies etc.); domestic-sized station buildings; lighthouse dwellings.

O Tower houses (medieval)
O Watermills
O Smaller (usually rural) Churches which might be suitable for conversion.
Most buildings in the following categories would not really be suitable for conversion to a single home:
O Civic, municipal, commercial, educational buildings (eg. town hall, police station, bank, office block, academy, library, custom house, museum)
O Pubs, clubs, hotels
O Hospitals, convents, barracks, institutions
O Manufacturing and industrial buildings (eg. industrial mill, brewery, factory)
O Cinemas, theatres
O Churches
O Warehouses
O Railway stations, tram sheds, dockside buildings

LOCATION

Buildings at Risk records are stored according to the local authority area. Please list areas of interest according to Council name (see map below), restricting your choice as far as possible (you can always come back for more)
