Finance Assistant - closing date 6/12/2016

Scotnet is a multi-million pound Internet Service Provider based in Inverness. Due to continued expansion we wish to appoint a full-time, permanent Finance Assistant to work in our Inverness offices.

Scotnet utilises an Oracle(tm) accounting system.  Appropriate training will be given.

The successful candidate will need to be bright, self-motivated, reliable and be able to take day-to-day responsibility for problem solving. Qualifications are not essential but prior relevant experience together with good references are.

This role requires prior relevant experience in a Finance/Book-keeping situation, together with excellent skills in organisation and with attention to detail.

Although a closing date has been set, an immediate start could be available to the appropriate candidate.

You will work in a small team - primarily responsible to the Sales Directors.

General Responsibilities: To assist in the running of or Finance Department.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • debt chasing and debt control procedures
  • sales payment processing - cheques and credit-cards
  • bank receipts
  • direct debits management - paper and electronic
  • reconciling credit/debticard payments 
  • checking/posting supplier invoices
  • handling telephone enquiries re accounts payable, receivable
  • Providing support in all other tasks as required

  • A high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • An excellent telephone manner and experience of dealing with customers over the phone.
  • Numeracy and literacy skills.

Salary: will be based on experience. We expect full-time equivalent salary would be in the range £18,000-£23,000.
